Could Google Reader Replace del.icio.us?

For me it just might, or at least offer a very strong supplement to it. On Monday, the Reader team announced some interesting updates which you can read here, but I will offer Cliff’s Notes:
- Add comments to items that you share within Reader (viewable on your Shared Items page and in the feed)
- Share pages that aren’t in your feedlist with a browser bookmarklet
I have been fiddling with Greasemonkey scripts that feed Google Reader items into del.icio.us and they all seem to be kludgey, while the new Reader functionality is pretty tight in comparison.
Have you played with Google Reader’s new Shared Items functionality? Let me know in the comments!

This looks promising. I started using the shared items page a little bit back when they released the feature, but for some reason I never really got into it. I love the new note feature. I’ll have to take a look at this again…
