Playlists: iTunes, last.fm, and Beyond
There have been a couple of posts on lifehacker this week and last week, talking about Smart Playlists in iTunes and what kinds of clever things people do with them. As a recent convert (out of convenience more than anything else) to iTunes, I’ve been working my way through all of its quirks/features. Cover Flow has to be one of my favorite UI tricks, but it seems to have problems with certain aspects of my music collection, namely compilations; they break up my Cover Flow foo. In order to remedy that, I created a Smart Playlist that gets rid of all of my compilations and just keeps full albums:

In one of these discussions, I mentioned how cool I thought it would be if there could be a better integration with last.fm in your mp3 player (be it iTunes, foobar, or winamp) and one person suggested that I check out Media Monkey. After looking at their website, I am very intrigued and will have to install it when I get a chance.
