Twitter is a cool communications tool, but one of its shortcomings is that it can be a hard community to break into. It isn’t ubiquitous (yet?) so you really have to already know people that are on it already in order to really get into things. Chris Brogan launched a wiki to help remedy that problem, with “packs” of Twitterers organized by geography, interests, etc - a simple solution for a simple problem that newcomers like myself, get into.
I’ve added myself under the Austin list of Twitterers and I am going to look into the special interest areas - perhaps something student-related?
