Miscellaneous News and Links

Well, I am (after this post), 22 consecutive posts into my blog365 challenge (or 6.0% of the way there).

I did a little bit of work on the site today:

  • Converted my RSS feed to Feedburner - For my dedicated fans, you can get all of my updates in your feed reader of choice (mine happens to be Google Reader) - would you want to receive updates via email? (Note: From a site administration point of view, installing Feedburner was stupidly easy and I wish I had done it sooner)
  • Resurrected Adsense - I don’t really expect to make money from Adsense, but it is something worth tinkering around with.

There were a couple of cool blog posts I saw today and commented on (as part of my push to participate more actively in the blogosphere):

  • Weak Ties and Strong Friendships [Employee Evolution] - An interesting thread on the types of friendships that social networks enable and how to reconcile that with older notions of friendship.
  • More Ways to Fight the Spam?Plague [Web Worker Daily] - Discussing different ways to deal with spam (I remember using Cloudmark many years ago, but now I am a GMail man)
  • 10 Steps to Create the Habit of Writing [Write To Done] - Leo Babauta (of Zen Habits) has started a new blog talking about writing, with tips, advice, etc. He’s a great (career) writer and I am looking forward to reading more of his work.
