One millennial musing about stuff.

Open Thread: Roadtrip!

Megan and I are in the discussion stage about going on a road trip during Spring Break. We need to figure out where we can go in 4-5 days, leaving from Austin.

  • Colorado is a place that we would both like to go to - not so much for the skiing or anything like that, but mostly scenery and maybe a bit of hiking. Getting to see the Rockies would be pretty cool for both of us.
  • Depending on where we go, we would like to be able to take the “scenic route” for all or part of the trip - for scenery and to avoid the interstate experience that is the same, no matter where you go. Small towns, great scenery, good food and interesting stuff along the way - Alton Brown’s Feasting on Asphalt is an inspiration here.
  • Going west from Austin is preferred, we’ve been all over most of the destinations to the north, south, and east.

Where do you think we should go?
