Cool Links: Cedar Fever Edition
Austin is known for being the Live Music Capital of the World, unfortunately, it is also known for being a nasty place for allergy sufferers, thanks to our long growing season and plentiful flora. Right now, Cedar pollen is wreaking havoc with my system, but hopefully, I will survive. (Interesting article reproduced from Texas Monthly - I like this line: “But cedar fever is not just any allergy. It’s a scourge, a plague that smites the just and the unjust who have the misfortune to live anywhere in a broad strip of Central Texas that stretches from the Red River to the Rio Grande.“)
Anyways, here is some good reading I’ve come across:
- Back to school organizing (GearFire - Tips for Students)
Here are some good tips for getting organized for this semester, I don’t follow all of them personally, but I think that this is good food for thought. - 3 Important Things That New Bloggers Neglect (Employee Evolution)
A good article for new bloggers, I admit I am guilty of some of these things (but I’m going to fix it soon, I promise!) - Storm, Nugache lead dangerous new botnet barrage
An interesting security read on new botnets and how they operate, written in reasonably understandable English. - 10 Steps to Become an Email Ninja (The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss)
I am trying to better discipline myself with my email habits, this page has some good info on how to do that. - Flying Saucer Lands in Austin (Metroblogging Austin)
I like Opal Divine’s and the Gingerman, I should check this out. It is a new place in Austin with lots of beers that just opened up at the Triangle.
