Best Blogs of 2007: Part 2

I am going to continue from where I left off yesterday, in my picks in Performancing?s 2007 Reader?s Choice Poll for the Best Blogs of 2007.

The Best Use of a Corporate Blog

My pick for the best Corporate Blog would have to be Dreamhost’s blog, it always has cutesy stuff in there and is a hoot to read. I think this quote best sums up what you can expect from them:

In keeping with my writing bretheren, I am continuing my strike. Not my strike on writing however; just my strike on good writing.

Best Blogs You’ve Never Heard Of

True to the category description, I have never heard of any of these blogs. Upon further investigation, Dear Rockers looks like my pick. It is a blog where people write a letter to rockers and send a couple bucks with the letter to go directly to the artist in order to offset the missed royalties because they downloaded the music instead of buying it.

The Best Blog Community

Well, for this one, I’m probably going to have to go with a draw between Twitter and Metafilter. I am just breaking into the Twitter thing, mostly just lurking, but I think I am going to continue messing with it (twitter.com/davidgiesberg). Metafilter has been pretty handy for me over time, particularly Ask Metafilter - it is probably the best illustration of the point that your teacher in school would always make when they said, “If you have a question, ask it, because someone else probably has the same one.”

The Best New Blog

I’m digging on FreelanceSwitch for this one, I don’t read it on a regular basis, but I’ve always thought it was well written and very well designed.

Best Blog Typography

Wow. Now I’m no expert when it comes to design and all that purdy stuff, but all of these blogs look great - quality that mere mortals can only aspire to. I recommend checking out all of these sites.

Stay tuned for the final installment of my Best Blogs of 2007 Review!
