Best Blogs of 2007: Part 1
2007 was a great year for blogs, the breadth and depth of what I read was fantastic. I had read a lot of blogs in the past, but usually in a few topic areas. Nowadays, I am reading too many blogs in a number of different areas. That aside, I wanted to write about Performancing’s 2007 Reader’s Choice Poll and my picks in some of the categories, as well as interesting blogs that I’m not familiar with and will be adding to my feed reader.
The Best Education Blog
I’m not familiar with any of the blogs in this category, but I looked at a few and I am intrigued by these four:
The Funniest Blog
I’ve read these 3, and they are all pretty good. I Can Has Cheezburger actually makes me cackle, but Scott Adams’ The Dilbert Blog has the best material and it gets my vote for The Funniest Blog.
Best Blog Webhost
Well, I use Dreamhost, and I have not had any problems with them, whatsoever. Their customer service is great, and I have not had any reliability concerns with them, since I signed on. I love their status RSS feeds, and how much they open up the behind the scenes stuff to us.
Best Business/Money Blogs
I read several in this category, but my favorite has to be The Simple Dollar, Trent’s realistic, personable, and well thought out posts make for great reading. Get Rich Slowly is a great one too, just a hair behind TSD. I Will Teach You To Be Rich is an interesting one for me, because I feel like Ramit’s opinions and age are closer to my own, giving more of a Gen-Y take on personal finance.
Best Science/Technology Blog
Engadget is my pick without a doubt, they were one of the first blogs I ever read, and I still keep an eye on them from time to time - great gadgets, always topical, good reads.
Stay tuned (tomorrow perhaps?) for the rest of my picks for the Best Blogs of 2007.
